I had a Covermate III lifter on my hot tub for nearly 4 years. It was a great lifter. The lifter was damaged due to my negligence so I bought a new Covermate III as a replacement. The new lifter mounting brackets are made out of plastic. Cheap plastic. The old lifters had metal brackets. The new lifter has been on my hot tub for only a month and I don't suspect it will last another 30 days. The brackets are already starting to twist and crack. Please don't waste your money.
1) Which bracket is best for me?
If your spa is sunken into a deck where less than 6 inches are exposed, you need the DECKMOUNT style bracket. However, most other spas use the standard bracket kit.
2) Will the Covermate 3 work for my round hot tub?
If you round hot tub is sunken into a deck, you can use the DECKMOUNT kit. Otherwise, no, the Covermate 3 is not compatible with round spas.
3) What is the Covermate 3 constructed of?
It is primarily an aluminum construction.
4) Is the Covermate 3 compatible with the Cover Saver strap system?
Yes.
