There are hundreds of other contaminants that the filter reduces and/or eliminates. Calcites and lime/scale: The ecoONE® Pre-Filter alters the molecular structure of calcite which inhibits its clinging capability. Calcium ions are removed from the water which changes calcite lime/scale deposits into aragonite. This alteration causes the lime/scale to remain suspended in the water where it cannot cling to equipment.    Materials: All materials used in the ecoONE® Pre-Filter are approved by the FDA for contact with foodstuffs including potable water. All thermoplastic/thermoset plastics used comply with the NSF standard 14.
